Would you like to help? Call Barb Cole at 641-895-6566
The Davis County Agricultural Society always needs “willing hands” to help with events held on the fair grounds.
Our three major events are the Ft. Bloomfield Rodeo and the Davis County Fair, held in the month of July, plus the Davis County Bluegrass, Country and Old Time Music Festival in September.
It takes many, many volunteer hands to make all these events special for those participating and attending. The Music Festival alone takes over 200 volunteers putting in many hours working during the event or making the wonderful homemade pies that we sell in the food stand.
The rodeo and fair are events that welcome volunteers to help with everything from stamping hands, delivering posters and fair schedules, or the icky job of picking up trash. (Someone has to do it!)
The upkeep of the grounds is another job where we could use your help if you have skills needed for painting, carpentering or planting and care of flower beds and trees. Any community organization is welcome to contact fair officers about a service project they might have in mind that would benefit our community fair facility.
We want you to be proud of the facility we have in our county. We hear the same comment from many people who attend our events…”You have one of the nicest fair facilities around”. Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have put countless hours into making it one of the best. We want you to feel a part of that too.
If we have somehow missed calling you when we are looking for volunteers, we are sorry. But you can fix that today! Please give Barb Cole a call at 641-895-6566 and she would be more than happy to take your contact information and we will put you on our calling list. You can bet we will find some job for you to do!
